After a torturous 13+ hour feed block the feeds finally returned just after 10pm BBC time with lots being determined for the future of the game. Gary followed through with his plan to nominate the duo of Tom and Liza, with Liza being the cover of the ultimate eviction of Tom.
While the feeds were down they also played the much anticipated (read: inevitable) Canadian Curling Competition!!! ß (Imagine that in the resounding echoing voice in my head, stadium style) It was the much sought after Veto and Alec won the Power of the Weird-Looking Plastic V Thingy!! ß (That one, too)
The curling costumes were sparse (for the trim ladies, at least) and every houseguest had one. Rumor is they were all involved or even played, and the obvious ‘pairs’ were together. We all knew Gary, Liza and Tom would play; Liza fittingly chose Peter out of the magic bag, Jillian played (and is suspected of throwing the competition because of a bad throw of the stone) and Alec obviously played to win.
If you want to see all that went down on the feeds and some off, After Dark for last night started taping about half an hour before the feeds returned, so watch that. It opened with skin-to-skin contact of Peter and Liza. Just in case you were wondering.
What we didn’t see go down was Alec telling Tom he wasn’t willing to use the Veto on him. Tom, I’m sure, didn’t take it well; although he is still convinced the house will be keeping him over Liza come Thursday.
So, AJ and Suzette are on the Block, and Canada has Veto power. Having to choose one to save (since we weren’t given the ‘Save Nobody’ option) it seems like Canada’s dislike of Tom is heavily influencing the vote.
I personally can’t stand Suzette’s overly excited voice in my headphones and didn’t vote to remove her from the Block. Tom’s reaction to her safety seems to be what Canada is aiming for so it’s looking likely that she’ll be saved by Canada – giving her the impression she’s loved by the country, when all they really want is to see Tom’s head explode.
The funny thing is if Tom hadn’t removed Gary from the Block, Canada would be voting in DROVES to save him, and Suzette would be going home tonight. But, no, he started to play emotionally and is instead most likely going to have to name somebody to replace his nemesis in the house. Sadly, it’s looking likely that he will nominate my personal favorite – Andrew.
Andrew is the oldest houseguest (38), slightly on the fringe of all the alliances and well-liked by almost everyone. In the early days of the feeds, he was considered the funniest person in the house, and hasn’t disappointed. His self-deprecating Newfie humor and baby-blues have won (at least, me) over, and I’m hoping if he does get named as the replacement nominee those will weigh in his favor for the rest of the house.
Who knows really what is going to go down in the house tomorrow, and sadly we won’t get to see the aftermath due to the not-live-ness. By the time the feeds come back on after the show the houseguests will have had time to cool off and recover from their shock. I am hoping that After Dark will catch some good moments we won’t be able to witness, but I’m not holding my breath.
After winning the Power of Veto, Gary, unsurprisingly, chose to take himself off the block, leaving Jillian in the position of naming a replacement nominee. After debating who to nominate in the first place, and deciding against nominating Danielle (after a heart to heart) she now had the chance for a do-over.
Danielle, having made her loathing for Jillian clear (in DR & out) actually thought she and Jillian were on geed enough terms the she volunteered to play the pawn, In doing that, she made it even more clear she has never ever bothered to watch Big Brother. Later asking about volunteering “Is that bad?”. Really.
So, no surprise Jillian took Danielle up on her offer of playing the pawn, however we all know in Big Brother the pawn is never safe. In fact, it’s usually going to be backdoored. So, Danielle, realizing that she majorly fucked her game started to gather votes. She’s sure she will be safe and Aneal will go home, however the tide has already turned against her.
It’ll be fun to see her face tomorrow as she’s walking up the stairs. It’ll be classic.
After winning the HOH this week, [Lumber] Jillian had to make her nominations earlier today. Jill talked Talla (having been the second last person left in the HOH Competition) into dropping by promising her safety. She promised the same to many people, including Emmett (duh!) and Tom.
With a genuinely good rapport with the majority of the house her nominations were no doubt a struggle for her. One rule of Big Brother is when you have power one week, act carefully with strategy, and be sure not to screw yourself in the long run. Don’t make enemies. Suzette did with her nominations last week, forcing an alliance between two of the strongest guys in the house and painting a target on her back. We’ll see how that plays out as the weeks go on.
When feeds returned after an excruciatingly long block (I took that time to catch up on some sleep), the outcome was Gary and Aneal on the chopping block.
Both talk a lot, using the social game & both trying to get on everybody’s good side. They’ll have the chance to win Veto to ensure their safety in the game but until that happens, maybe as soon as tonight or tomorrow, they’ll be feeling the pressure.
